    3. I am looking for early information on the parents of Eden Johnson, b. 1750 in Skenesboro which I believe is now Whitehall, N.Y.. He married Eunice Abbott, b. 1750 in Salisbury, Litchfield, Connecticut. They had a son Chauncey Johnson, b. 1782 in New Hampshire. Eden had the wander lust and never seemed to put down roots in any one area for too long. Eden drowned November 4, 1809. The 1790 Federal census for Whitehall only lists 5 Johnson/Johnstons - William, Timothy, Samuel, Daniel and Moses. If Eden was born in Whitehall ca. 1750, or as the Bristol biography basically says, he and a friend, Stewart, grew up in Whitehall, then he is probably related to these Johnsons. Eden was a Methodist and probably came from Ireland. By 1796 Eden was in Prescott Co., Upper Canada. Descendants spelled their surname both Johnson and Johnston. One, Thomas Hall Johnston was elected to the 3rd and 4th Parliaments of Canada West from the riding of Prescott. I have considerable information on Eden Johnson after his marriage to Eunice, but I have no information on his parents and where they came from. Any and all help will be much appreciated. Cliff. 3. Typo, should read that Eden's parents probably came from Ireland - not Eden as he was born in Skenesboro. Cliff.
