I am seeking information on some Read/Reid/Reed people who came to Sandgate, Bennington Co., VT at an early date from Washington Co., NY: Thomas Read of White Creek, County of Charlotte, NY, 27 Dec. 1785. Mathias Read of Salem, Washington Co., NY, 20 Sept. 1791. James Reed of Salem, Washington Co., NY, 22 Sept. 1823. Is anyone familiar with any of these Reed families? Are they somehow connected? Hi, Joann, Sorry, my Reeds came much later- first arrival we know of is in 1849. That doesn't mean there isn't a connection somehow, since immigrants tended to go where there was already family. Ann
