    3. Ft. Edward Center Cemetery still exists and there are a number of markers, many still legible, but it is abandoned and very badly overgrown. It's located several miles south of Ft. Edward between Rt. 4 and the Hudson River. My 4th great-grandfather, Jacob Bitely (1765 - 1853), and 5th great-grandmother, Lucy (Palmer) Cary Bell (1742 - 1836) are both buried there. I'd love to find others willing to work with me to help clean it up. My husband, daughter and I did a bit of clearing nearly four years ago - but we live several hours away and it's too big a job for us to take on alone.
