Cumberland County was split off in 1766. Green County was split off in 1800, also part from Ulster Cpounty. Tyrone County was split off in 1772, and was renamed Montgomery County in 1784. Renssselaer County was split off in 1791. Saratoga County was split off in 1791 Schenectady County was split off in 1809. Schoharie County was split off in 11795, also part from Otsego County.
