Source, Rutland (Vt) Daily Herald--Mon. Oct.12, 1964. OWEN J. HUGHES. FAIR HAVEN, Vt.--Owen J. Hughes, 68, died Sunday night at the Rutland (Vt) Hospital. Born July 1o, 1896 at North Poultney, Vt., he was the son of John and Sarah (Thomas) Hughes. He is survived by his wife, the former Caroline Jones ; a son, Leonard Hughes, and a daughter, Mrs. John Frazier, both of Fair Haven, Vt.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren ; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Roberts of Granville, N.Y., and Mrs. Ethel Harrison of Nesquehoning, N.Y. The body will be removed from the Mallory Funeral Home Tuesday morning to his residence on Cottage street where friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Poultney (Vt) Village cemetery.
