Anne - You're right, but there are/were two other Presbyterian Churches in Argyle: The church in the village of Argyle (which was at several locations before the current one on Rte. 40 on the south side of the village; see the photo in the upper left at this site for the Town of Argyle: http://www.argyleny.com/), and the North Argyle Presbyterian Church (now an office, but retaining it's structure) on Rte. 40 just south of the hamlet of North Argyle (a photo of that church is the last photo at this site; scroll down with "arrow" or "page down" keys. I researched the cemetery book for Argyle and the South Argyle Church Cemetery is located "in back of the South Argyle Presbyterian Church at the intersection of County Rt. 338 and Lohret Rd." Looking at a map, I can see Lohret intersects with Rt. 49. And since Argyle is such a small community, I'm sure it's the only Presbyterian Church in town.
