    1. what church?
    2. Michael McAlonie
    3. I have an ancestor who moved from Jackson to Greenwich about 1835. What would be the best bet for a church in the area of north eastern Greenwich, just east of Cossayuna Lake and near the Salem border. Old lots 70,71, and 63, I believe. Near present "John Sears Road". From about 1835-1845. And any idea about if the records were preserved? Thanks, I appreciate your help! Mike

    1. RE: [NYWASHIN] what church?
    2. There was a Dutch Reformed Church, (aka: Presbyterian) about six miles south of there in the hamlet of Battenville immediately across the river in the town of Jackson. The church is long gone but you can see the outline of the area where it was in the cemetery that adjoined it. I tried several years ago to locate any church records for it but had no luck. I would love to find them also if anyone has any ideas. This cemetery has ancestors of Susan B. ANTHONY and some of my HOWARD ancestors. It is not much further into the village of Greenwich where several churches existed. I think some of the Baptist church records from there are available.
