    1. Re: [NYWASHIN] query WEBSTER in NY ADAMS' Regt. War 1812?
    2. John & Nancy
    3. Hi, I have gotten the War of 1812 service records from the National Archives for eight Searles men who all served in Pliny Adams' Regiment of the New York Militia. I am trying to see how these men are related. I don't know where the men were mustered in, but I know where some of these men lived when they were mustered in. This may help you. All the Searles men were enlisted in Pliny Adams' Regiment from Sept. 11-Sept 23, 1814. They were all discharged on Sept. 18, 1814 in Burlington, VT. ( " distance from place of residence 75 miles"). When they enlisted Elijah Searles lived in Hampton and William Searles lived in Granville and they served in Capt. Thaddeus Sheldon's Company of Pliny Adam's Regiment.Thaddeus Sheldon apparently was of Hampton NY in 1810 where he appears on the census that year. 3 2 0 1--/ 2 0 0 1. Jeriah Searles, Jacob Searles, Abramham Searles, Isaac Searles, and Samuel Searles lived in Whitehall and they all served in Capt. Jacob Foster's Company of Pliny Adam's Regiment.Jacob Foster apparently was of Whitehall NY in 1810 where he appears on the census that year. 1 0 0 1--/ 1 2 1 0 0 1 He also appears on the census in Whitehall in 1820. John Searles may have lived in Salem ( unfortunately, I believe that he is my ancestor and I am having the hardest time finding information about him) John Searles served in Capt. Jeriel Dayton's Company of Pliny Adam's Regiment.Jehiel Dayton apparently was of Fort Ann in 1810, as he appears in the census there that year. 2 1 0 1 0 / 1 0 0 1 0 3 In 1830 he was of Granville NY (1 0 0 1 3 0 1/0 0 1 0 1 0 1) In 1812 he appears on an 1812 equipment claim in Granville NY. Also, there is an Elisha Webster in Granville on the 1810 census. Is he yours??
