Hi Nancy, "John L. SEARLES served in Capt. Brown's Company, with pension certificate no. 14253. John SEARLS [sic.] enlisted April 30, 1813 for 1 year and served in Capt. Jan, Thanks for the information, but unfortunately this is a different John Searles. I got this John L. Searles War of 1812 pension file from the National Archives. In 1871 this John Searles, aged 75 years old appeared before the court in Montgomery, Franklin Co., VT. and asked for a pension. There is some good genealogy information in this file, but it is not my John Searles. My ancestor, John Searles who served in Pliny Adams Regiment of New York Militia died in 1848 in Milford Township, La Grange Co., Indiana. Thanks, Nancy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jan J." <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, December 10, 2004 4:58 PM Subject: [NYWASHIN] SEARLES War of 1812 > Hi Nancy, > "John L.
