Source,Rutland, Vt.Daily Herald--Fri. June 9, 1950. FORMER POULTNEY PRIEST CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY. POULTNEY, June 8--The Rev. John J. Hogan celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination with a mass Tuesday in St.Raphael's church. The Rev. Joseph Connolly was in the sanctuary. Father Hogan was formerly a member of St. Raphael's parish and his first mass here 25 years ago. He was born in Hampton, N.Y., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Hogan, and was educated in Granville, N.Y. schools, St. Michael's college at Winooski and Grand seminary in Montreal. He is now pastor of the Church of Blessed Sacrament ,in Hague, N.Y.,where he celebrated his silver sacerdotal jubilee Sunday. he is also pastor of St. Theresa of Bryant Lake, N.Y., and Assumption chapel at Hulett's Landing, N.Y. His sisters, Mother Mercedes, and Miss Mary Hogan attended the mass. Father Hogan and guests had breakfast at Hotel Poultney, following the mass, where he was served 25 years ago, at the time of his first mass.
