Leslie -- Thank you so much for the information on the tax records for Henry Sherman. He was born 28 Sep 1730 to Jabez Sherman and Jedidah Hawes in Dartmouth, Mass. His wife's name is Ruth Akin born 28 Dec 1731 also in Dartmouth to James Akin and Amie Fish. I would really like the reference source for the information if it is not too much trouble for you. Also, I have been struggling to find any information on my 5ggfather, David Duers or Dewers, whose wife, Deborah Sherman was the daughter of Henry. David and Deborah were married in 1770 in Dartmouth. At least one of their children was born in NY (John Duers abt 1779), three other sons were probably born in Dartmouth before the family moved to NY (William, abt 1774, David, 1776 and Benjamin, 1778). The junior David Dewers is my 4ggfather and he moved from NY to Pennsylvania (Susquehanna County) in about 1825. If you find any information on any Duers or Dewers in the tax files it would be very helpful and useful for me. Thanks again. --Bart
