    2. Source, Rutland, Vt. Daily Herald--Sat. Oct. 15, 1904. GRANVILLE, N.Y. The body of John Cook, a life-long resident of Granville, was discovered in the pond at Middle Granville Tuesday morning. He is supposed to have stepped off the side of the road, which is close to the water, sometime Monday night. Mr. Cook was 59 years of age, and a man of some means. The funeral was held Thursday .Henry Jeandrault, a shoe maker at the Middle, discovered the body, having thrown a stone at what seemed a coat floating in the water. This action revealed the corpse.
