    2. Source, Granville, N.Y. Sentinel--Fri. Aug. 8, 1913. SHUSHAN, N.Y. Mrs. Charles Mattison is recovering from a severe illness. Rupert Jennings has returned from a visit with Albany friends. Miss Elsa Alexander of Salem is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Shaw. Miss Clarissa Piser of Troy is visiting her sister, Mrs. Josephine M. Dobbin. Henry Bender and family of Troy are occupying their summer home at West Sandgate, Vt. Mrs. Frank Foster of San Francisco, Cal., is visiting her sister, Mrs. George A. Foster and family. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Prindle are spending two weeks at Fort Trumbull Beach, Milford ,Ct. Union services were held at the Methodist church Sunday evening, Rev. I. C. Forte preached. Miss Frances Sutherland of Troy was a recent guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. K. Sutherland. Mrs. Palmer, wife of Representative George M. Palmer of Cobleskill, is visiting Mrs. F. T. Beattie. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Peek, formerly of this village, now of Vail MIlls, are the guests of Mrs. Mary Turner at Somerville, N.J. The Women's Missionary society of the United Presbyterian church will meet next Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. John W. Dobbin. Rev. John R. Fisher will give an illustrated lecture on " Colorado and Corea ", September 4, for the benefit of the Shushan library. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Sturtevant and son, Robert, after spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Lovejoy, have returned to Rutland. W. H. Shepherd, traveling passenger agent of the Delaware and Hudson railroad ,was in town the latter part of the week perfecting arrangements for the Shushan Methodist excursion to Boston, August 6.
