    3. Greetings, all.... In what seems to be an endless search for my Washington County relatives (Empey, Seal, McKinney, Wilson, Arthur, Stewart, Bent, etc.), I'm presently pursuing a question on behalf of my Mom. She remembers attending school with brothers Ralph and Hermus McKinney. The former was born in 1922 and the latter in 1920. They had an elder sister, Katharine (b. about 1910) and a younger sister, Viola, born in 1924. They were a nice family, whose father unfortunately passed away in 1929. Mom went to school with the two boys oblivious to the fact that they were her cousins. I can find the family living in Ft. Ann village in 1930, but after that they sort of vanish. I believe I found the WW II enlistment records for Hermus and Ralph but nothing more. Does anyone have a clue what happened to any of this family particularly Ralph and Hermus? Thanks a lot! Susan

    3. I am tracking several families - the Berrigans from probably Co. Tipperary - and the Guthries, McDonoughs, and Laydens from Liscannor Parish in Co. Clare. All of the families worked in the Slate Quarries. Today, I learned that Liscannor was famous for its slate, called Liscannor Slate. Anyone else tracking Liscannor families in the Washington County area? (Mine are mostly in Granville NY). Thx Kevin

    3. Hi - my grandparents lived at Sandy Hill from the time of their marriage in 1893 until the moved away in about 1902. Do the town directories for that period give street addresses? Could someone living in that area check at the Hudson Falls Library to see if Edgar G. and Emma B. Murphy are listed and send me their street address? Could you also check to see if the house is still standing? I underestand that Glens Falls, South Glens Falls, Sandy Hill (Hudson Falls) and Fort Edward are all listed in the same volumes. My thanks in advance for whatever information you can find. Fred Murphy (frpamu@cshore.com)
