    2. Kevin MacKinnon
    3. Hi - Was wondering of anyone could tell me if any local papers might have an obituary for a Franklin McDonough, b. 17 Aug 1837 in Ireland, d. 12 Dec 1910 in Granville. I don't believe there are too many copies of the Granville Sentinal from that year - but maybe another close by town? Thanks Kevin

    3. Looking for help researching two Granville families in late 1800s. Mary Baker (b. 1852 County Clare, Ireland) married a Patrick McDonough (1840-1876). I find Mary in the 1880 US Census in Granville and Patrick is buried in Granville. They had 4 children: Francis Patrick, Loretta Bridget, Mary Theresa, and Miriam. All born in NY - I believe Granville. When Patrick died, Mary Baker remarried a Thomas Kelly/Kelley. They are in Granville NY in 1880. Thomas dies in 1889 and is buried in Granville. They had at least 4 children: John, Elizabeth, Anna, and Thomas. I know the Kelley family was in Cohoes NY and then Fair Haven VT, but their roots are in Granville NY. Any info is appreciated! Kevin

    2. There are some of the New York State census records online at FamilySearch.org Under the search tab on the home page click on search records click on search records pilot and then you can browse through New York records as well as other states and countries. Not all of the records are complete but you'll be able to see that and they aren't indexed for the most part so you'll have to browse through the pages of the locality. The Washington County Archives has most of these records as well. The Washington County historian may also be able to help. I had McClosky relatives in Washington County at one time and it took me forever to find them because the name was spelled incorrectly--they didn't even show up in a soundex search. So you might be better off looking through any census records page by page if you've hit a brick wall. Good Luck

    3. Hi Mike, There will not be any civil official vital records as the state did not require them until 1880. You might get lucky with some Catholic church records but I do not know if any exist for this area and time period. Someone else on this list might be able to advise you on this matter. Do you know when they came? They might be on the NYS census for 1865, or even earlier maybe. 2. M. Kathleen Felsted
    3. Hello, I have two separate family members that were born in Salem, Washington County, NY (this according to State Census records of Nebraska, where they listed their birthplaces). It appears that they migrated west fairly early. This is what I know so far: 13 Jan 1799 - Sally/Sarah Hathaway - born in Salem 26 Mar 1804 - Lorin/Loren Haskin(s) born in Salem (could even be Lorenzo?) 5 Nov 1829 - Lorin Haskins md. Sally Hathaway , Cortland County, New York 1840 Census of Gainsville, Genesee, New York - Loren and family listed there 1850 Census - both are in Washington Twp, Porter, Indiana - they meet up with my Brown line (from KY) 1860 Census - Platte Township, Andrew, Missouri. 1863 - Lorin bought land in Lancaster, Nebraska 1870 Census - Lancaster, Nebraska 1875 State Census - Centerville Pct, Lancaster, Nebraska 1880 Census - Centerville, Lancaster, Nebraska 30 Apr 1885 - Sally/Sarah died 1885 State Census - just Lorin 3 Feb 1886 - Lorin married Mary Alice Patrick (young woman) 12 Jun 1889 - Lorin died It looks to me that the two families (Hathaway and Haskins) were migrating or traveling together. I have done some searching on the internet (Ancestry and others) for their parents but have not found anything. I need to check LDS for their records. Does anyone on this list know anything about these families?? I am willing to share what I have. Thanks! Kathie -- M. Kathleen Felsted mkfelsted@gmail.com

Any State as well off as Massachusetts can surely afford a Library. Massachusetts is hallowed ground for a great portion of early Americans. Let them hear from all of us. 3. David I understand this but when petitions signatures are gathered at least on issues in CA they must be verified as registered voters. While I agree a large amount of names on a petition may have some sway only registered voters in the certain jurisdiction actually have legal rights to change issues. And I understand that people in other states will be denied these resources . ----- Original Message ----- From: "W.
