    3. What kind of information would we find on the Washington Co State Census for 1825? I've never seen a state census and wonder how it is different from the national census. 3. Somewhat similar information in most cases. State censuses up to 1845 are heads of families only, the rest list everybody. The 1855 is very important as it gives county of birth for people born in New York. I believe that 1892 is less useful. There is also 1905, 1915 and the last one in 1925. 3. There was an 1892 state census taken, not 1895. My references show that it is available from the LDS Family History Centers for Washington County. You can check their catalog online at familysearch.org. 2. This message is for CWFan in Georgia. I have located the death date and burial location for Newell Harwood of Salem. He died 12 March 1863 and is buried in the Bininger Road Cemetery in Eagleville in the Town of Salem, NY. Please get back to me with where the 123rd Regiment was located on that date. It appears that Norwood died in Sushan at home* after having been discharged in December, 1862 from a hospital in Baltamore, Md. as Harewood The123d NY was located near Stafford Court House, VA in March of '63. * I have noted in my records but have neglected to record the source. Thank you for his final resting place. Do you have a photo of his grave ?? 1. Salem, NY Harwoods
    2. Earlier I had found an envelope postmarked in 1901 and addressed to N. A. Harwood, Esq. in the real estate papers of my mother. We lived on Vail Street in Salem, NY. Later I found in the Evergreen Cemetery in Salem burial-s for Nelson A. and Milton J. Harwood, both born in Bennington, VT of Len & Relief Harwood. Nelson was born in 1846 and died 10 April 1902. Milton was born 1839 and died 15 Sep 1901. OK. Who do these men descend from? VT vital records has Lieurendus Harwood marrying Relief Granger in Pownal, VT 25 May 1828. He is a son of Judah Harwood, 195 in THE CONCORD HARWOODS, b. 23 April 1803, and 5th of 12 children. Judah is a son of Stephan, #90, a brother of my gr-gr-gr-grandfather Zechariah. Children of Lieurendus and Reief are Newell, #687, Emily, #688, Freeman, #689 and Hiram, #690. Apparently Nelson and Milton did not make the list. Additionally Newell married Zerusia Howard 24 Feb 1852 in Arlington. Newell appears on the muster roll for the 123rd NYSVI company from Salem in 1862. The regiment mustered in Salem 100 yards from the house I grew up in on Vail Street. Quite a coincidence. Any descendents of these Harwoods on the list? 1. SPENCER - Granville, Washington Co
    2. Norval Pinder
    3. Hello, I am new to this list and wonder if I might seek some advice. I am trying to find the burial of my ancestors, Samuel and Mary SPENCER. Of their sons, one lived in Hastings Co, Ontario, and another in Granville, Wasington Co, NY. Samuel SPENCER disappeared sometime between 1860 and 1871. In 1871, Mary SPENCER was living with her son in Ontario. I have recently discovered that Mary SPENCER (age 71) was living with her son Francis SPENCER in Granville at the time of the 1880 US census. By 1890 Mary appears to have disappeared from the radar in both places. Francis SPENCER and his wife, Sarah GUNTER SPENCER are apparently buried in Granville. Francis died in 1919 and Sarah in 1925. The family were Methodists. I would very much like to determine if Samuel and Mary SPENCER are buried with Francis and Sarah SPENCER. Could SKS please advise me of whether there are burial indexes for Granville? Thank you for reading.
