In sorting through the many Bennetts of Warren Co., NY I am stumped on this one. Nathan BENNETT appeared on the tax roles of Warrensburg in 1814 and 1816 (NEHGR 73:103). Who is he? Other Bennetts on the same tax roles were probably the sons of Abel and Nancy (STRANAHAN) BENNETT. They were: Abel, probably Abel, Jr., b. abt 1776 in Coventry, Kent, RI, who m. Jemima HARRINGTON, dau of ?. Caleb, b. abt 1765 in RI. He m. Sarah HARRINGTON, dau. of ? James, b. 22 Apr 1771in Coventry, RI; m. abt 1795 Sally LANGWORTHY Samuel, b. abt 1785 in RI; m. ? I have a Nathan, b. 1781 in East Greenwich (possibly), RI who m. Huldah NICHOLS, b. 12 Jun 1791, Kingsbury, Washington Co., NY. She was the dau. of Silas NICHOLS and Ruth UNDERWOOD (probably) of RI. I would like to prove that he is or is not a son of Abel and Nancy. I would welcome information on any of these people.
