Okay, here goes dumb question number...?...I've asked so many dumb ones that I've lost count! Here goes. On the 1910 census my great grandfather's occupation is listed as Laborer/Fireman. I can't figure out if this meant a fireman = fire fighter or fireman on a train. I've never heard stories about him being a fire fighter -- but then again, I've never heard stories about him working on trains. Well shoot!...I've never heard much about him at all. Was being a fireman on a train in those days a very skilled or largely unskilled job which might have been done temporarily by someone who 10 years later was listed as a laborer/paper mill? This was in Glens Falls. Any suggestions how I could figure this out? Thanks, Linda
