My aunt who is 87 distinctly remembers thi s being discussed but has no evidence; New York: 5th generation (in this Connecticut line) John Washburn of Fort Ann Elizabeth Washburn of Fort Ann Edward Washburnn of Jay, Essex County John Washburn of Fort Ann Abel Washburn of Essex County Israel Washburn of Fort Ann & Essex County 6th Generation New York Eunice Washburn & Oliver Sanders in Jay , Essex County Census Descendants of Abel Washburn (in Essex County) Edward Washburn's descendants (see the Essex County site for biography of an Edward Washburn) Could be that you connect with this line? However, there were others who did come through Springfield MA and then upstate NY; I think they also might have had a Vermont branch. Let me know and we will look together.
