Hi: I just wanted to let everyone know that the beta search engine on the web site has been reindexed so now all of the recent additions (i.e. Town Clerks Civil War Enlistment Rolls) can now be found using the search engine. Good luck! Todd Easton Warren Co., NY USGenWeb CC
Hello: Okay I've added a search engine that allows you to search the entire NY Warren Co. site by whichever surname, location, etc you choose. However, there seems to be some bugs in it so far. It has no problem finding information that has been uploaded for some time (ie Census, older queries, tax payers, etc) but seems to be unable to find any names in the registers I added last night. I'm hoping its just because that information is new and the "system" hasn't adjusted yet. Still, the engine works great and allows you a short cut to finding whatever you need. Have fun! The search engine is on the main index page at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nywarren/ Todd Easton Warren Co., NY USGenWeb CC
Hello again everyone: The Enlistment Rolls are finally online. These were made available thanks to the hard work of contributor Tom Dunne. You will find the registers for the towns of Bolton, Chester, Hague, Horicon, Johnsburg, Thurman, & Warrensburg. There are hundreds of names here including the hard to find mother's maiden names. Not all communities have been included because either they were incomplete or unreadable. Unfortunately there is no index, although the lists are alphabetical within each town. I'm trying to find something that will allow you to use a search engine of the site only. I'm not that advanced in web design to know to much about that end of it. Rootsweb may have something on the horizon that will work. The address is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nywarren/enlistmentrolls.html if you prefer going directly to this new area. Next will be some regimental histories and rosters also thanks to other volunteers. As always, have fun and good luck! Todd Easton Warren Co. NY USGenWeb CC

In response to Sharry of Florida: Horicon is in the north end of Warren County, and Stony Creek is in the southwest corner, a distance away. Nevertheless, there was a large Glassbrook family at Stony Creek over the years. There was a William Josiah Glassbrook, b.c. 1819 and d. Stony Creek, 3 March 1902, ae. 83-0-14. He m. Minerva McDonald, b. Stony Creek c. 1822 and d. there 21 March 1891, ae. 69-1-21. They are bur. in the Baptist Cemetery at Knowelhurst. They had a son William J. Glassbrook, b. c. 1859. He is last found in their home there in the 1880 census. Hope this ties in. John Austin
