    3. My gg grandfather John Jay Richards died in Warren County on April 18, 1850, according to information from a distant cousin. I'm trying to find some documentation for this. Would appreciate any advice on how to obtain a copy of a death record. While doing research today, I discovered there is a small graveyard near the First M.E.Church at Warrensburgh and Richards is listed as a Surname. Is anyone familiar with this cemetery? 1. [NYWARREN] Warren County Web Page News
    2. Hi All: A new search engine; Pico has been had to the site. I've been told that this one is a much better search engine. However, we'll leave it to you to decide and I've kept both available. A few months back I also added Gen Connect boards for Bible Records, Deeds, Obituaries, Pensions, & Wills. These boards allow YOU as a researcher to help out others. If you have information available please share it with everyone. Everyone that receives this e-mail as the opportunity to help others researching Warren County, especially if you are concerned about the information being added. I also have links to other sites but please be aware that if you ask me to link to your site I would prefer that the information contains mostly Warren County families. I won't link to pages that do not have the majority of Warren County families. Also I'm going to subdivide Warren County into subdivisions for each township. I'm in contact with some other hosts for other counties that do this. If you have an interest in helping us out and doing the work for one of the following townships then please let me know. Be aware that this is NOT a definite thing. I'm just putting out feelers for now to see if there is much interest in doing this. The greatest advantage is that it will allow us to get more info for each individual town, especially Queensbury which is lacking on the site. You must have a working knowledge of basic html. Johnsburg, Chester, Horicon, Hague, Bolton, Warrensburg, Thurman, Stony Creek, Lake Luzerne, Lake George, Queensbury, City of Glens Falls Also am adding a page for look up volunteers. If you have access to any books or databases about Warren County and would be willing to do lookups to help others please let me know. Thanks for all the kind messages from the majority of you. When I first took over the site I probably over loaded it with new info. Unfortunately now I don;t have much more info available of my own. Only as a team can we take the county to the next level. Please send me an e-mail to ordigger@aol.com with the subject heading: Warren County Hosting if you have an interest in helping do lookups or possibly be responsible for a township. Thank You! 3. I am looking for information on Beecher HIGBY who lived in Glens Falls, NY in 1826. Beecher was considered a prominent builder/architect in the area and is known to have designed at least two homes of historic value in the tri-county area. I am interested in finding data on Beecher's family and possibly making contact with a descendant to share/swap information on his life. Research is currently being done on one of the homes that Beecher HIGBY built. I would appreciate any help you are able to offer! 2. Hi Everybody in Warren County, New York; Let me introduce myself, I'm Deanna LaVoy-Lewis in Houston, Texas doing research in Warren Co. and Washington Co. On my family of LAVOY, MONGEON, LAROE, LONGDO, WAKELEY, BAYLE, LAROSE, ALLEN, MCWHIRTER, to start off. My question today is--I have a relative that died about 1856-1860 Joseph Lavoie. He was Catholic and his records aren't in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church or any other Catholic Church in Warren ,Washington or Saratoga County. Can't locate him in the surrounding Cemeteries either. Where do you think he would have been burried being Catholic? Deanna LaVoy-Lewis

    3. Greetings All! My grandfather's mother, Lydia Frances Seymour, was said to be the granddaughter of the Glenn who founded Glenns Falls, NY. Her mother was a Glenn who married a Seymour, but I don't know either first name. Grandpa said his mother's grandfather Glenn won, in a poker game, the right to build a mill at the falls, so it was named for him. He later co-signed a note for someone else who defaulted on it, so he lost his property. That's all that got passed down to me. In Virginia, I'm having no luck finding sources of information about the founding of Glenns Falls. Could someone on the list suggest the names of books or some other sources of information about the Glenns of Glenns Falls or the history of the place? I'll appreciate any help with this. 1. Re: [NYWARREN] More NYS biographical sketches
    2. Hi: Yes, the two sites are different. Each though allows you, the researcher, to do data entry on any genealogical information you may have (ie queries, biographies, wills, births, deaths, etc). Gen Exchange relys more on the individual sharing info that they may have while the UsGenWeb site shares information that I post and individuals share. Each is a great site and both offer pros and cons. That is why I included a link, when asked, to allow everyone to get a full range of tools. I would say that the genweb site also allows more creativity outside of set web design. Use each site as you do research. Todd Easton Warren Co. NY; US GenWeb CC http://www.rootsweb.com/~nywarren

    3. Gee, that page is even better than the Warren County genweb pages was! It's the Warren County Gen Exchange? page. Not the same thing, is it? Say, I can see a miraculous amount of Warren County census transcribing is going on, and it looks like I may have some time free. I have access to complete census for US through 1910. But I can't find on that page who to contact who is organizing the transcribing. I can see that obviously someone who is a very fast typist and is retired, has been very busy.
