I have an article from the Hudson River Chronicle Oct 1838 describing an event of a boy named Alonzo Purdy being shot and killed by a boy named John Baker. A boy named Staples also being wounded in the same event. Alonzo Purdy was the son of James Purdy of Milton. I have searched in vain for follow-up articles.
