It seems that the original information I had received regarding the children of Abraham & Christine Decker being born in Canada was incorrect. Apparently only one child out of the eight, Christine born in 1808, was the only child born in Canada. All the rest were born in New York. I found Sophia (Decker) Kelly & Tabatha Decker (children of Abraham Decker & Christine Vandousen) in the 1852 Canadian census which are on line. A couple of years ago I helped to transcribe some Stanbridge census from Missisquoi Co, Quebec, Canada. They have since been indexed and are on line at: _http://www.rootsweb.com/~qceastwn/archives/1852StanbridgeDistrict2CensusIndex .htm_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~qceastwn/archives/1852StanbridgeDistrict2CensusIndex.htm) It shows that Sophia (Decker) Kelly was born in New York, listed as age 55 so that makes her year of birth 1797. A few houses down is Tabatha Decker age 49 which makes her year of birth 1803. She is living with Peter Jr. and Permilia Bedard. It looks like all but one of Abraham & Christine Decker's children were born in New York. So it looks like the Abraham & Christine Decker listed in the "Decker Book" are the ones that moved to Canada. The names are just a bit different from the book.
