This is a "stab-in-the-dark", trying to get past my Decker/Kelly brick wall. My third great grandfather, Martin Washman Kelly b. 1821 d. 1847 Quebec, Canada is my brick wall. His parents were Joseph Kelly & Sophia Decker and were found in Stanbridge, Missisquoi, Quebec, Canada. They were both born approx. 1793. I don't know for sure, but I am guessing that Martin's middle name, Washman, might have come from his mother's side of the family. Sophia Decker's parents were Abraham Decker and Christine Vandousen. Christine's death record indicates her year of birth to have been abt. 1771, so I would guess Abraham would have been born before or abt. 1770. At this point in time all I know is Abraham and Christine Decker had at least one son, John, born about 1790 in New York, but I did not have a clue as to where in New York to look. Most of their children were born in Canada. It has been suggested I try for the Ulster Co. Decker line. I am hoping that someone on this list might have some information on Abraham & Christine. Hopefully, information on this Decker/Vandousen line might lead me to someone in the family from the Washman line. Sandy Williams **************It's Tax Time!
