    3. Is there anyone on the Ulster County mailing list who would look up a court record? I would pay the $1.00 per page fee and in exchange for your help, could look up birth and death records at the NYS Archives in Albany for you. Thanks to Ginny Byron, I have the reference number where to look for the document on microfilm at the Surrogate Court, Fair Street, Ulster County Office Building. For those who don't know, the archives has a microfilm record of birth's and death's in New York State starting in 1880. A birth record is not available until 75 years after the event and a death record 50 years after the event. Information provided on the microfilm is: date of birth or death, name of person, place where event took place and a registration number. A few births may indicate "Male", "Female" or "Stillborn" in those cases where a name was not provided at the time of birth. Regards, Bill McGrath
