General observation concerning information from cemeteries: I realize that cemeteries have no obligation to provide information for Genealogical Researchers and that they are not 'in business' to support us. Having made that observation, I am amazed at the variety of responses that one receives from cemeteries. In the last few years I have received the following; 1. To a request for 'all interments with surname ****, I received 18 pages with photocopies of record cards containing all names of those buried in any plot containing that surname. Including a request for .10 per copy. 2. A form to fill out for a copy of individual interment cards, at $17.00 per name. 3. Copies of indidual name interment cards at $15 for the first name and $3 for each additional name, ordered at the same time. 4. Listing of an individuals interment record with no mention of fee. It seems that some cemeteries have come to the realization that all this family history frenzy has created an opportunity to make some money.
