HI, I'm interested in the Rice family of Rondout. They came from Germany in the 1850's and settled in Kingston. The family was involved in barges on the Hudson river. Jacob Rice was a State Senator in the 1880's and was married to Sophie Derrenbacher. Charles Rice my husband's g-grandfather was married to Elizabeth Langendorfer.
