Hi..as many of you know I have had a frustrating time tracing our ancestry. After close to 5 years of genealogy, I have very, very little. Last night I was thinking about a 1900 census in Woodstock where it lists our gggrandmother as having 11 children but only 7 living by this time. Well one of her children we knew about as he died in the civil war. Would it be acceptable to write to the woodstock town clerk and ask (use an sase and all) if she has a record of any of her childrens deaths? I know parents names and only 10 of their children. I have tracked this family from the 1850 census to the 1900 census, minus 1890 of course and they stay in Woodstock mainly. I have never asked for something so general but am anxious to find more about our family. Thanks all of you! Michele R.
