Hi Barbara and List Members, I'm not familiar with obtaining vital records from Ulster co. or towns. Vital records for NYS became mandatory about 1880. The vital records for all of New York State are indexed on microfilm at Albany. Once you have the certificate number you can complete a form and include $11 and order the record from Albany. Here's the catch. If you mail the form in, you can wait 8-12 months. If the form is dropped off, you will have it within a week. New York City records are archived at the Municipal Archives in NYC.
