    3. Hello. I'm reducing my ignorance of Ulster County a little bit in my pursuit of the HINKLEY/HINCKLEY family there. Nathan HINKLEY is said to have died in Hardenbergh, probably before the Civil War. The 1850 Census doesn't have a listing for H'bergh. I am assuming that the area wasn't named until after Col. Hardenbergh distinguished himself in the War. Correct? Would you know what the Township was called (if anything) before the Civil War? Was it just part of Denning? Also, as with the Sacandaga Reservoir, the Ashokan probably covered developed land. Correct? If so, was any effort made to preserve or move the records, stones, etc? THanks.
