Dear List, I recently spoke with the county clerk in Kingston requesting a death record. I had been told the record was with the surrogate court files. I was told that these files were unreleaseable. The clerk referred me to Ms. Klinkenberg, a genealogical researcher. I also tried the town clerk of Lloyd and New Paltz and was told neither of them had such records. I am seeking the death record of Cornelius DEYO,d. 2 24 1865. He is the son of William DEYO and I need actual proof of parentage. Does anyone know why these records are not available to researchers. Or, does anyone have any other ideas as to how to proceed. Please let me hear from you. I am at KMACinTX@aol.com. Thank you for any suggestions that you may have. Karen
