Hello Folks, I just discovered that my James Thompson of Or. Co. NY married Marah McDowell. So have started researching McDowells. Have found a John McDowell from Middle Town, NJ purchased property in Or. Co. NY from Sayers in 1788 and also Alexander McDowell sold property to the Piscataway Baptist ch. in 1731. Is anyone researching McDowell name? I have Runyon and VanCourt ancestors of NJ and Wisner, Thompson, Jayne, Woodhull, and Carpenter of Or. Co., NY. Thank you, Phoebe in CA
