Dear Adrienne, We have quite a few Dumond surnamed ancestors (also sometimes spelled Dumont) in our family also in the Ulster County NY. I just recently happened to find this wonderful website that included a lot of Dumond and Dumont (sometimes also DuMond and duMont) as well as my surname, Yeaple. I am looking for Samuel DUMONT, born 1802. He emigrated to Ontario, Canada at least by 1825. I have no idea of his parents names, but he named his children Eliza, Louisa, Mary, William, Harriet and Elmore. There was a grandson named Samuel Arthur.
