Virginia Yes I have already look at the census index on the ancestry website, but they don't show any entry for 1870, just 1850 and 1860. Since my ggrandfather Eli Dimsey was born in Milton,NY in 1866 he wouldn't show up these. I am told he stayed in NY until he was an adult so he should appear in the 1870 census. Victor
