Noticed the names you are researchng Pegeen and thought I would see if we have any VanVleet/VanVliet/VanFleets in common. Peter Van Vleet (changed the spelling from Van Vliet) was born 4/15/1788 in Ulster Co. NY, and married Hannah Critz. Their children were Anthony, Sarah, John C., Cornelia Anna, William, Louise, Marth Jane, Wellington, Phoebe, Leonora and Peter Van Vleet, Jr. This family moved from NY to Ohio, Iowa and then were in Knox Co., Illinois abt 1850. Would appreciate any information you or anyone else has on this family. I have quite a bit on the the decendents, but have never been able to link Peter any further back.
