Hannah Johnson, said to have been born in Delaware County (but her parents appear to have been from Ulster County), married a man from near the Canadian border in Franklin County NY in 1826. Can anyone tell me or suggest how someone from Franklin County and someone from Delaware or Ulster County where Johnsons appear to have most of their history, might have met? Was something happening in Ulster/Delaware that might have lured a young man that way in the mid-1820s? To the best of my knowledge there were no family ties in the area until this marriage occurred.
