Hi, After spending a lot of time with LDS film # 0017722, which contains a copy of the Katsbaan baptismal & marriage registers from the NYS Genealogical Society (or so I understand it), I find myself increasing puzzled. I'm sure Audrey or Richard can answer this, & as the answer may also be of assistance to others, I'm posting the query to the list. I think I read that the original registers are locked in a vault? I suspect that they have never been microfilmed? So... how many transcriptions are there, & when were they done, & by whom? How much do they differ? In what form are they available? Audrey's index cites page numbers for copies of Olde Ulster, but there are names I see on the LDS film that are either very different or that I can't find at all. I wonder if that is because the spellings vary so widely between the 2 versions? Also, I recall something about an additional list? I have info from various researchers, citing to baptisms at the Katsbaan church, but some of the entries I'm finding don't match. Could they have looked at another transcript? On the filmed copy, someone has crossed out names or dates in places & written others above. All very confusing. Any explication will be much appreciated.
