Hello Genealogical Researchers in Ulster County: I am searching for any records concerning the GUNTERMAN/KONTRAMAN/ COUNTYRMAN family living in Marblehead, Ulster County, in the late 1700's or earlier 1800's. I have just *two* pieces of actual HARD evidence -- (1) The 1790 US Census, for the County of Ulster, town of Marblehead, (page 175) lists the following: (neighbors!) FREDERICK Countryman -- 3 males over 16; 2 females HENREICH (Henry) 1 male over 16; 1 female MATTHEW Countryman 1 male over 16; 3 females (2) For the Articles of Association, [Town of] Marbletown (Syl.C1) the following is listed as a signer: FREDERICK KONTRAMAN [also says "taxed for Tory son (CP 6/639)" -- ??] Would appreciate any information any one might have on ANYTHING mentioned above. Does anyone know *when* the Articles of Assoc. for the Town of Marblehead were drwn up, for example? What the Syl.Cl. means? What CP 6/639 refers to? Thanks for ANY help!! Sincerely, Marsha Strong Gainesville, FL
