I believe that if one doesn't send an SASE with any cold inquiry (not just to municipal historians) they have no right to expect a reply. <shrug> Just my opinion - don't take it personally. FYI - I created a mailer for the Greene and Ulster County historians that lists contact info for all the town clerks, other town historians, researchers, museums, societies, libraries, newspapers, etc. - everything I could think of for someone from away needing to further their own research - and told them to make copies as needed. You guessed it - most sent off the originals and the replacements I gave them! Richard
