    1. MINARD Family
    2. I am hoping to find other people researching the MINARD family from Ulster County. I descend from James and Abigail (Camp) Minard who lived their final years in Ulster County. They were married in 1771 in MIlford, Connecticut. Camp Family Association as well as the Milford records show that she was from Milford and he was from the New London, Connecticut area. I have information on Abigail's family but none on the parents of James. A genealogy I have on one of their sons, Isaac, states that he was born in 1774 in Vermont. Some other information I have from Quaker records states that a son William was born in 1784 in Massachusetts. I descend through their son Samuel who was born in Ulster County and moved to Canada in 1813. I believe several of his siblings also moved to Canada. I know they had at least 15 children and some information states 17. They finally settled in Ulster County and were members of the Marlborough Meeting of the Society of Friends. I have been told that there are still MINARDS in Ulster County. The 1790 census records shows only eight Minards total. One was in Vermont - Henry. Seven were in New York State - James Jr., Jonathan, Nathaniel, Phillip, and Timothy were in Ulster County; John was in Columbia County and Michael was in Westchester County. Is anyone out there a descendent of James Jr. Jonathan, Nathaniel, Phillip or Timothy MINARD and/or have information about them? Rita McNeely Port Huron, Michigan
