    3. Greetings to the list members. I have been searching for the past year in NYC and Dutchess County for the subject surnames. I am now beginning to believe I am not searching far enough. Everything I have found leads me to believe (not proven yet) that the lines I am seeking have roots in either Westchester and/or Ulster counties as well. Is there anyone else here searching for: BUSSELL, CARLOW, or PURDY?? I have only one PURDY so far...Cornelia PURDY, married to Peter A. CARLOW (unknown where) 1850 Dutchess County Census shows them with 5 children, all CARLOW Surnames of course, Amy H. abt 1837, John M. abt 1841, Isaac P. abt 1842, George P. abt 1845 and William L. abt 1848. Isaac went on to the Civil War, serving in the 150th NYSV as a "musician/bugler"...died on Jan 24th, 1915 in the New York State Hospital...He married Mary Rebecca (maiden name Unknown)...they had at least one child, Antoinette Louise CARLOW born abt 1864. Cornelia PURDY died Jan 21, 1853 in Poughkeepsie and based up certificate information she was born about 1813. Anyone recognize this PURDY, OR any of the CARLOW's??? Also have a number of BUSSELL's but only a single proven link...to Richard Harson BUSSELL. The BUSSELL family had a lumber/mahagony business in New York and I've found several in the Bronx and Manhattan that I believe are related..but no roots for them yet.... Does anyone recognize any of these names?? Thanks to anyone who responds... Larry Lachance Jacksonville, FL Larry01@mediaone.net LLachance@lachances.net LJLachance@aol.com http://www.lachances.net
