Hi, I have been looking for the ancestors of my GGGrandfather, George Stanton, b. 1801 in Orange or Ulster County, who lived and died in Forestburgh, Sullivan County. He arrived there by 1840. He had a wife Sarah and a younger one by 1865 named Amelia. He died in 1888. There were several early Stanton families, including a large one in Deerpark, descending from Jacob Stanton and Grace Wheeler of Mamakating. Does anyone have any information on this family, especially their son Benjamin Wheeler Stanton and his descendants. I have more information on these Stantons and those of Newburgh if I can help anyone. Pat Walker
