To Sue who asked about VANKEUREN and ROOSA: I don't have anything about the third name, but I'm a VanKeuren (and Roosa) descendent, in fact we have our own mailing list. If you want, feel free to subscribe to VANKEUREN-L@rootsweb.com by sending the note subscribe to VANKEUREN-L-request@rootsweb.com. Jacobus VK (b. 16 May 1719 Kingston, d. 18 Jun 1803, Shawangunk) was first married to Leah Hoogteeling in 1741 according to the DRC Kingston records. They had 9 children. (I'm descended from their son Hazael). I'm not positive of the identity of Leah Roosa's parents, but am sure she's tied into the Roosas of Hurley, NY. The first wife, Leah Hooghteeling's mother was Jannetje Roosa, daughter of Heyman Aldertse Roosa and Anna Margriet Roosevelt. Leah appears to be a family name. Jannetje had a sister by that name, and I'm sure one of her brothers would have a daughter by that name as well. My guess is that you're probably looking for one of the following as Leah Roosa's father: Aldert (b. cir. 1679) Claas (or Claes) (b. cir. 1684) Gysbert (b. cir. 1686) I haven't really dug into this group of Roosas since it was so far from my direct line. I would encourage you to try the VanKeuren list. A lot of the listers have additional info on file that might help you out! Good luck! Lisa Stitt
