    3. I thought I'd pass this along -- my apologies if it has been previously posted. LostCousins is a site that been active for a while, using UK and Canadian census records to connect people researching the same lines -- lost cousins, in fact. Beginning this month (Feb.) the site supports the US 1880 census. Basically, you enter 1880 census data for your ancestors (and their kin) on a really simple form. The data includes National Archives reel # and census page # (easily found at www.familysearch.org ). By matching up people who've input identical info, the site links folks with similar research interests. The site is mostly free -- subscribers can initiate contacts and get an extended matching service (allied families / marriage). At the moment, there doesn't appear to even be a way to subscribe paying with US funds! If you use the link below to register, I'm told you'll get free 'subscriber' status through April 2007. http://www.lostcousins.com/?ref=1776LC921166 I hope some folks give it a try -- I'm always looking for new cousins!
