There seems to be no Hale NY in recent times; From my interpretation of the spelling, that seems to be the "town" from which my ancestor was from when he enlisted in the rev. army in 1777. I have found a Hale's Eddy on the Delaware River south of Deposit; was this ever called Hale? Were men from this part of Ulster County part of the militia units that joined Malcom's additional regiement? I know that Delaware and Sullivan counties were taken from Ulster. Any help appreicated.
