    3. In New Marlborough, Ulster Co. NY, Philip Ayres was the eldest male of the 4 Ayres/Airs/Ayers families in the 1790 Census. Does anyone know the relationship of the four male heads of families namely: Phillip, Phillip, Thomas & John? Do any of them have a son George b 1784 who married Margaret b NY cir 1790. Margaret was a young bride for her daughter Katherine was b 1807. George & Margaret were in Delaware Co. OH, Marlborough Twp in 1820. George was possibly in the War of 1812 in Abner Ayres Company. I am particulary interested in the John Ayres family. 1 male 16 & over 1 male under 16 2 female Does anyone have any information on this family? There is also a Phillip Ayres, Thomas Ayers, & Phillip Ayers. I would appreciate any information. I am looking specifically for George Ayres, b 1784. His first son was named John so it might be possible that the John Ayres in the 1790 census was his father. In researching George Ayres' family who settled in Marlborough Township, Delaware Co. OH, I found that the township was founded by settlers coming from Ulster Co. NY. She was born in 1783. I've seen references to Phillip as well as Andrew in various histories of Ulster and New Paltz. In searching for the Burgesses, who came from the Oblong area of Dutchess county (Conn and Sandwich, Mass before that), the Airs name has popped up in some lists of tenants, I think. I just haven't focus on them yet. David moved to Huron County, Ohio, in the 1850s. (Abigail seems to have died, but I can't find information about her death.) I happen to be going there this weekend to do a bit of research. Write me off the list, and we'll see if there is something I can look for while in Ohio.
