His talk will discuss passenger lists and other available records and the information they include from the Colonial period to about 1900. He will illustrate how to locate and research these records using traditional sources including microfilms and books as well as on-line databases and the latest CD-ROMs About our Speaker Arnold Lang has 20 years of genealogical research experience and is currently the president of the Genealogical Society of Bergen County, NJ. He made his first presentation on "Using Ship Passenger Lists and Naturalization Records" to that Society 8 years ago. Since then, he has been making presentations at other Genealogical Societies and at various libraries throughout northern New Jersey and New York. He also teaches on this and other subjects, including "Searching Ellis-Island On-line Records," "Using Family Tree Maker," "Census Records," etc. He has established a site on the Internet entitled: "Research Guide to Immigration and Ship Passenger Lists". This site has won various awards and has resulted in Mr. Lang responding to queries on this subject from people around the world.
