    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Smith, Hallowick Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5RB.2ACE/669.2.1 Message Board Post: I also have Woodstock Smiths. The furthest back I have is Solomon Smith (1775-1859) and his wife Priscilla (maiden name unknown) (1802?-1884). In 1840 and 1850 they were living in Hurley, but their son Henry (1821-1894) is listed as "of Woodstock" in 1849 when he married Mary Elizabeth Hallowick (1824-1895). In 1850 and 1860 Henry and Mary lived in Hurley and in 1870 and 1880 they lived in Olive. At the age of 41 Henry fought in the Civil War with Company B of the 120 NY Volunteers. He and Mary Elizabeth had the following children: Margaret, William, James L., Udora, Gouralis(?), (Hiram) Lincoln, Chauncey L., Roland and Newton. Do any of these names sound like a match?
