I am hoping that one of the local genealogy or historical societies have created books from the newspaper announcements of deaths & marriages + births. Does anyone know where I can purchase these? I am interested in the 1790-1860 time period. I have a man "James P DICKINSON" who is supposed to have been born in Ulster 1820, then he lived and died across the river in Poughkeepsie. Trying to find his parents. Any suggestions? Any local history books available that could help in my research? I know that the Dutchess Co. Historical Society has several of these books and I have purchased 2 of them, they are a big help. Thanks, Carol L. Heap, FL "You live as long as you are remembered"
Carol Heap, I may have asked before, but suffer from CRS so I thought I would ask again. Do you have a line of Dickinson's that married into the Jenks line? If so, can you give me a running line so that I can find a common link? I have several men in the family with the middle name of Dickinson but it doesn't seem to follow with any of the surnames from either side of the line. Could use some help here in making a connection if possible.
