Dear Ulster Listers, I am planning a day trip to Ulster Co., mainly to the county courthouse for land & probate records. But, I'm wondering what the "best" library is for old maps, town histories, or other genealogy sources. Any recommendations? My ancestor, Elnathan MARSH was in the Dutchess Co. Militia during the Rev. War, and in Mamakating in the 1790 census. Was there some Rev. War bounty land in Mamakating? You might want to include Sullivan and Orange Counties in your trip plans, if you have enough time; Mamakating is now in Sullivan County, and part of Mamakating became the town of Deerpark in Orange County in 1798.
